After a few months of peace, the kingdom of Gloomworth is assaulted by a new danger!
War Comes for Gloomworth
To the west, the kingdom of Pitax and the Tiger Lords have long been at each other’s throats.
However, the situation has changed. Pitax and the Tiger Lords have entered an uneasy alliance.
The reason? They both fear the expansion of Gloomworth. Word has spread quickly of the kingdom’s
strength and both parties have decided that something needs to be done about it.
The group takes on Vordakai the cyclopes lich! This is the toughest foe the group has faced to this point.
Guardian Elemental
Before the group could fight the lich, they had to get past his guardian! A water elemental empowered with
the souls of the dammed. This monster proved to have some fight in him. Almost taking out 3 party members in
one massive surge of water. Thankfully, the group was able to reorient themselves and lay down the hurt on
the monster.
The group finds a shortcut to the Lich! Teleporting themselves to a room right outside his main chamber.
They also rescue a Centaur princess who had tried to explore the tomb by herself. She had a run in with
Vordakai and lived only because he wished to hear her cries as one of his minions extracted the will to
live from her.
More Shadow Monsters
Guarding the main entrance to the second floor, a group of 4 shadow monsters assulted the group.
Thankfully, the group had leveled up last session and found that they where able to get the upper hand
in this fight very quickly.
The group begins investigating the lich’s lair in ernest. Hoping to save the village of Varnhold.
Fighting some soul eaters, negotiating with a Nessy and
dispatching of some strong but decaying cyclopes zombies. They also learned that Vordakai was not
always a bad guy. However, something changed when a being known as the Lantern King arrived.
Fight with the Soul Eaters
Sensing the presence of the group once more, Vordakai summoned beasts to dispatch of the group. These shadowy
monsters where resistant to physical attacks and also assaulted the group’s minds and bodies with their attacks. Thankfully,
some effective spells and strikes where eventually able to destroy the creatures’ immaterial form.
The group reaches the next main event! They dealt with some squatting gnomes that had set up camp in the
empty Varnhold as well as learning about the great Ogre Lich, Vordakai from the Centaurs. The group had
just defeated some guardians for his tomb and had opened the way deeper into the tomb…
Spriggan Special
In town, the group split up an was able to discover the following things..
A very quick session this time! The group has successfully defeated the cult of the bloom
and the stolen lands where allowed a moment of piece.
Using the life energy of the caves that the cult was located in, the group was able to grow
themselves a new companion. The Wee Baby Fang is a baby dino that Rex had adopted way back when
the curse of the cult first started to rear its head. Exposure to the magics of the cave has
caused her to hatch and grow! She is now Rox’s animal companion.
Big fights this time! The group clears out the rest of the Cradle of Lamantshu and gets rid of the cult of the bloom!
Encounters of the Gnome Kind
After passing through a yellow mold infested room, the group started hearing some sad humming.
Investigating further, the group caught a glimpse of the source of this humming. He glowed faintly and
then passed through a suspiciously smooth stone wall. Rox smashed his way through, revealing that the wall
was not natural and was infact placed there by a shape stone spell
New year new problems for our merry band! In this session, the group started by visiting Greengripe. Then they started their
direct assault on the Cult of the Bloom. Hoping to stop them once and for all. They also made some new friends from old
enemies.
Greengripe
The party began play at the ramshackle town of Greengripe. This goblin settlement had clearly seen better days. Half of the town had
been burned down and the food stores of the town where clearly in the red.
This ep is going to be the last adventure using the colostle system, At least for now! Wanda will be adventuring on the surface or somewhere else.
Still diving down into the debts of the colostle while also exploring the Roomlands.
In this ep, Wanda dives into a massive labyrinth to get the Goblet of Healing for Lisset. After getting this for her, Wanda will be free to return to
the surface by asking the great Mounted Telenna for help.
In this short session the group makes a key discovery about the affliction spreading across the land and launch an
investigation to find the source of the corruption.
A Feast Gone Wrong
After winning the competition, the Embeth Travelers held a feast to celebrate the group’s accomplishments.
Sadly the feast was interrupted by a most unwelcome occurrence. In the middle of the feast, one of the waiters started
to feel unwell and made a hell of a scene. Yelling and screaming he ran out of the hall to the back of a stable.
The group talks to the leader of the Embeth Travelers, lovingly named, Jimmy! They compete in a hunting
competition. Killing all manner of beast, including a Tyrannosaurus! They also find a suspicious creak that
seems to have an unusually large amount of First World magics tainting it.
Dinner on the Roof
The group enjoys a lovely feast on the second floor of the Hunter’s Lodge. The Embeth Travelers serve their guests
a full 3 course meal and the group is able to socialize with the 3 groups that they where going to be competing with.
Wanda almost succumbs to her infection but is saved by the Clan of Cups! She makes a new friend and even finds the way
out of the dungeons but is dead set on helping her friend before she leaves.
Scene 1
Taking a dip in the waters had relieved me of the itch, but just as the scholar mentioned the vines where invigorated by
the water. I feel ill and weak. The vines seems to grow by the day and I have stopped bothering to remove them.
Wanda keeps exploring the Dungeons. Discovering an overflowing garden room and a way to alleviate the symptoms of her
Rook Rot. She also runs into a wondering scholar. The stranger is kind and gives Wanda some key insights into the
Dungeons.
Scene 1
As I moved down the hall, I started hearing the sound of water. Moving to the source of this sound I entered a room
with a lake and a waterfall within. The lake was still aside for the small ripples that reached the shore line from
the waterfall. It seemed that the water was coming from a river in the Roomlands above. A massive crack in the ceiling
allowed some light to also come down into the room.
Wanda starts her journey through the dungeons. Running into mysterious new Rooks and contracting a strange
disease. She finds an impossibly large Rook, chained and long dead. Then she is forced to push forward as
the way back is locked off to her.
Scene 1
I have landed in a large dark chamber that seems to branch out into hallways. I would have never believed that the Colostle
held such secretes hidden under its rooms if I had not fallen into them myself.
A short session today! The group is invited to a hunting competition and learns about some strange magic that is beginning
to influence the wilds around their kingdom.
News From NocNoc
NocNoc, the goblin starts the session off with news about his latest exploits. As it turns out, a goblin with a pension
for killing can put his talents to good by working for the Embeth Travelers.
This famous hunter’s guild is well known in Brevoy and Restove. They are a large organization of big game hunters who have
set up a camp in the stolen lands.
Howdy! Something a little different for those who like to read, a solo rpg adventure, staring none other
than Wanda. I have never published these adventures before but think it could
be cool to do so. For those that don’t know how something like this works, its a little like writing a journal.
I will use the rules of the Colostle system to see what happens to Wanda and write out the results.
In this session the party gains a new settlement. They also find a foxy allie and take out a massive
owlbear that had rampaged over the land. Keep reading for the details !
An Audience With Howlet
Howlet is a bandit that the party spared on their raid of the staglord’s fort. He was tasked by Smith with helping
out the kingdom and joining it again once the time is right. He was given the special code phrase “I saw the smoke
signal” as a way to identify himself.
In this session, the group cleared out the rest of the trolls in the abandoned Dwarven Fort!
The group learned the name of the Fey Queen that has had influence over a few of their past encounters.
They also learned that they have a special guest waiting for them back home.
Stetson Returns With a Message
The session starts with Stetson returning from checking up on the Kingdom. All is well, however an
unknown man wishes to have an audience with the group. He asked Stetson to bring the group back as
soon as possible. He told Stetson to bring the group this message: “I saw the Smoke signal…”.
The Gratitude of the Lizard People!
This session started off with our marry band of misfits in the Lizard People Village. They had previously helped them with
their Wispified chieftain and as a show of gratitude, the current chieftain has given the group a treasure chest!
Inside, the group found 400gp worth of treasure as well as the Blueprints for a special SpellStriking Rune!
This special rune can be engraved on a weapon to allow our magus to set off a magical explosion when he misses his spell strike.
The damage is not super large, but it is a nice little consolation prize that allows Smoke to deal a little damage even if he
misses his big move.
